Join us on this amazing tour steeped in history. The Barbados Garrison (UNESCO World Heritage Site) served as the headquarters for the British West India Regiment during the 18th and 19th Centuries, and was the largest Garrison in the British Colonies at the time.
The tour begins with the exploring of the Garrison underground as we walk through tunnels which once enabled the secret movement of soldiers. Then learn about some of the key buildings that make up the Garrison such as the exquisite Main Guard, the former soldiers' barracks and The Military Prison (which now functions as The Barbados Museum). Here you will have an opportunity to browse the museum shop. After a journey through history we will be served a unique bajan tea in the Sweetfield Manor courtyard where the occasional peacock will hopefully strut by. This historic hotel sits atop a hill lending spectacular views over the south coast of Barbados and the Garrison Savannah.
